TownWear began in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts when the company's hometown was celebrating its sesquicentennial anniversary. Today TownWear has grown into a nationally-recognized brand in demand not only for its unique custom designs, but because of TownWear's built-in giving program.
"Being in business is a privilege we take seriously," Adrian continued. "By having a socially-responsible approach to business, we earn that privilege from our retailers, our staff, and you."
TownWear apparel celebrates what makes towns special, and has something for everyone-men and women of all ages, kids, toddlers, and even infants. Known for one-of-a-kind designs, quality and comfort, TownWear t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, onezies and bibs are the perfect souvenir and gift item for friends, family and business associates.
This company is firmly grounded in its SouthCoast roots. All garments are either screen printed or embroidered in New Bedford, where all of TownWear's adult, ladies and youth apparel are pigment-dyed as well, to get that stylish natural color palette and lived-in look. The wildly popular designs are all created here too, by TownWear's parent company, BER inc in Mattapoisett. Just up the street, every order is inspected, tagged, packed and shipped by Mail Box Services located on Route 6 in Mattapoisett. The production process is overseen by manager Doreen Gomes, whose philosophy is simple. "If an item doesn't meet quality control standards, we don't ship it."
Since its inception, TownWear has donated thousands of dollars to local charities throughout the country. The Boston Gift Show has recognized TownWear as a "Made in New England" product and has featured the brand in its highly sought after Preview Guide. TownWear was also the first company ever to receive the distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year award from the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce.
"TownWear is a unique product that supports local economies and businesses in many ways," Angela Ellis, sales manager, said. "In addition to our generous giving program, we provide all of our retailers with invaluable free marketing support, including custom photography for advertising, an online listing, social media promotions, custom point-of-sale signs, and more."
